Lets Celebrate debt independence day-when?

We will be celebrating our independence from the tyranny of our own addiction to debt. 

We will celebrate the day we stopped borrowing from the Chinese.

We will celebrate the day the US population understood the importance of making
hard choices based on the long term future of this country.

We will celebrate the day politician stopped being debt pimps by focusing
 on being elected
and start looking out for the future generations of this country.

We will celebrate day government is run efficiently and not a source of funding
for the uncreative bureaucrats and their kingdoms of mediocrity.

Yes we will celebrate, but when?

Does Transparency Kill the current game?

I wonder if our global financial system and the political power centers only work when they operate in the dark. When light is pointed at them the whole game starts to fall apart like now. Maybe it is because it really only works for a few and they do not want the rest of us to really know. My next question is what will be the consequences of transparency on a globe scale. One thing is for sure transparency is growing, it will become ubiquitous and operating in the dark will be harder and harder. What will all this mean to Dictators, bankers, to the corrupt elites, the congress, oppressive party regimes, etc. It is going to be fun watching as they all run for the small cover darkness left.
