Three must reads and two must watch

I am reading Sir Ken Robinsons new book " Finding Your Element", excellent. It is about our quest to find one's mission, passion, working Nirvana. It is a great read. I would accompany it with the two lectures the author gave at TED.com. Another must is  "The Icarus Deception" by Seth Godin it is uplifting, about how we do not fly high enough, desire enough, think big enough and how to do so. I love this book. I have heard it twice(audible). Finally one of my  all time favorites"Why should all the White guys have all the fun" it is the life of Reginald Lewis. This is the Rocky of business. I think they should do a movie on Reginald Lewis life and have Denzel Washington play Mr Lewis. I have read this book three times and I am now on my fourth. An extraordinary business life and story. A black man against all odds creates a business empire in white dominated Wall Street, a must read.

Transparency is the next phase of Creative destruction

Darkness and lack of transparency is present and growing in politics, government, religion, health care, education, commerce, etc. To me this tragedy is a great opportunity for entrepreneurs to bring transparent business models into these industries and to many aspects of government and religion. Technology is a destroyer and exposer of all those dark pockets in our society that are operating under the radar and not being truthful in what they are doing, how and how much. Imagine how efficient, trust worthy, cool and inspiring it would be to live in a society where transparency is the default and a must, where you can believe that what is being said and done. It is going to be a different ball game because  the big "T" is  coming very soon to a theatre near you. Transparency is the new killer app.  The Transparency paradigm is knocking on our doors. It is revolution in where many are going to lose but the majority will benefit.

Fact or fiction which one is more powerful

I cannot figure this out. What has more  influence on human behavior: fiction or non fiction. My feeling is that fiction is the most powerful one but i am not 100%  sure. Another question is what we perceive as factual really factual or is it fiction? since it seems that most of the stories we hear about and  supposedly  hard core information in lots of cases is made up. It seems that a great deal of life is all made up through story telling and the simple execution of ideas which falls in the same category. In the case of our personalities they also seem to me to be made up, almost as characters in a play or a movie that only difference is that we play the role for a whole life time. Fiction gives us the opportunity to expand beyond our limitations and explore the unlimited while non fiction is about dealing with a fixed and frozen reality with all its limitations. It is something I have been thinking about for a long time. If you can help me out with some feedback on this matter I would appreciate. All the best and may you play your best role possible with no limitations, then it become a fact or not. Just play.

Prices starting to drop due to the internet I think

I like designers frames(eyeware)  and I have been noticing how prices are improving online. They are lowering significantly from lets say from $300 with prescriptions to $95 with prescription and at times even lower than that. I am very excited about this trend because it is starting to hit home. It is about the stuff that I consume . I am also seeing this trend in shirts and I wondering when is it going happen to fountain pens, etc. Maybe the dream of efficient information and price comparison online is starting to take effect, both online and retail. It feels like retail now has more variety of offerings and prices. A cool company for designer frames with an innovative business model and good prices is Warby Parker http://www.warbyparker.com. In the clothing category I recently bought shirts at a Japanese designer shop in New York City called Kamakura shirts, great designs and happy prices http://www.kamakurashirts.com

Creativity is the new Killer app

The industrial revolution has been for many years all about making human beings predictable, productive and efficient. It worked very well for a certain period of time but now we are moving away for this living and production model. We are entering a new paradigm in which repetition and imitation are  sure ways to have your tasks, job or input automated, outsourced or even made irrelevant. Here are two videos dealing with creativity and its importance.
http://www.ted.com/talks/david_kelley_how_to_build_your_creative_confidence.html
http://www.ted.com/talks/ken_robinson_says_schools_kill_creativity.html
enjoy the uncertainty, the fun and now the big profits of being a creator.  I am starting with creating a new me. Time to explore our individual and collective creativity and innovation. Life is now going be fun and full of raza. Bring your inner child to work he is the one that is going to make the big bucks.

Unemployment is about technology and education ask a robot.

Robotics is now becoming a cutting edge industry and one that is going to have a tremendous impact in our lives. I was thinking about how many jobs will be killed by robots. Just off the top of my head manufacturing is going robotic has we read. This means lots of jobs gone. Robots will be doing jobs around and in our houses. In the service sector lots tasks that a person did is now being done by a computer. Even voice recognition has taken away many jobs from people that were answering the phones at corporations, government offices, etc. Now the question what to do to adapt. One option is retooling to be able to work in a robotic automated and high tech environment. The other alternative is to become more of high concept designer and thinker/ creator. I believe that he work force will become polarized between the high tech engineers and the high concept creator whomever is in the middle will be left out on the unemployment line by a robot near you or outsourced. It is time that the education system gets its act together and focuses on cutting out all those useless expensive careers and starts to educate lots of high tech people at all levels, creators, high concept thinkers, designers and entrepreneurs. Unemployment is not a political issue. Unemployment is not about economics. Unemployment is about technology and education. The time has come for a big paradigm shift otherwise  robots are going eat us up alive.

The Venezuelan Ape is going, going........

After fourteen years of full fledged economic and moral destruction the head of the current communist gang ruling Venezuela, Hugo Chavez seems to be in trouble. I guess destruction to others may turn in destruction to yourself. He destroyed everything in his path and when he could not destroy anything else he turned on himself. He is leaving a country with one the highest murder rates on the planet. A regime that is competing with Putin's as one of the most corrupt in the history of the world. No infrastructure  including no electricity, no decent roads, no decent hospital that he would be willing to stay in( he went to Cuba for his health care) and no institutions. The private sector was decimated .The economy in shambles totally in debt.  He create millions of more poor people because remember communism and socialism needs lots of poor people for it's existence. It main resource: oil has been sold to the Chinese for present and future revenues at low fixed price and the main petroleum company PDVSA once a player in the oil business is now simply a bodega of a company. Million of people have been lied to and left in the cold with a dream that will never happen. I guess nature can take so much. Time to recycle a monster

May the creators and producers stop the American slide towards becoming like Europe or worst Latin America

This country is being divide between the producers/creator/builders and non producers. We are becoming Europe which through its tax policies has killed production/entrepreneurship sending the creators and innovators running for cover. A recent example is the owner of the biggest luxury brands conglomerate in the world LVMH, Bernard Arnault an extremely successful French entrepreneur  is now moving to Belgium and giving up its French citizenship as the French President Hollande and his the socialist party in power gets ready to increase  capital gains taxes to 64% and individual tax rates that could reach as far as 75%. I wonder where is the revenue going is going to come from, I know who is going to spend it but not who is going to make it. They will probably print more money, create higher levels of inflation, debt, economic stagnation and more capital flight. Money goes where it is treated well. We need to be extremely careful because we could be become the next Europe or worst Latin America and be gobbled up economically and militarily by the Chinese. Vote with your brain and not by your need and desire to be entertained.

The Castro mafia letting people travel freely what a joke

The two destroyers of Cuba Fidel and Raul are now playing the open democracy game within the confines of a jail which is Cuba. It is all a public relations stunt. They did the same things when they announced the permission to let small business operate within the Island. Slowly but surely all the  regulations and restrictions brought it all  back to reality. It turns out it was another scam from the Castro mafia. The same will come about with this new lifting of the travel ban. Already the restriction, regulations and can't dos are becoming public knowledge, for example if you have any profession of value to the country you will not be able to travel freely, that means that only those hanging out on the streets corners playing dominos can travel. All Doctors, scientist, military personal and all valuable parts of society continue to have restrictions. The one good thing about this law is that it would permit the Castro brothers, their families as well as members of their gang to travel freely and leave the island for 24 months, giving Cubans some relief, since they the Castro's add no value to the Cuban society they have no restrictions. It is also up to the government to issue passports. You cannot simply grab your bags and get on the plane you have to go through an approval process(we all know what that means). You must have a specific objective to travel that the so called government must approve. The well know cuban blogger Yoani Sanchez says she has been turned down twenty times for permission to travel. The Cuban mob is up to is old tricks. It is time for the Castro brothers to try out this new  law themselves and travel freely forever with no return or even travel to hell and stay there. What a shame to have these gangsters still in power on rampage of destruction, oppression, corruption and tremendous human rights violations. Come on and we are all standing here and watching this happen.

Wild Company a great story

I am reading a great book called " Wild company" is the story of the two founders of "Banana Republic" the clothing brand. They started with $1,500, Patricia and Mel Ziegler. It is a wonderful story, very well written and a fantastic read. It also very inspiring for us entrepreneurs. How money is just one of the elements of the success equation. I highly recommend this book and may this  story repeat itself millions of times through this land.

The Venezuelan regime: Fraud Nation

The Venezuelan Dictator got way with another stolen election. He contaminated the pool of votes with thousands and maybe million of none Venezuelan citizens that he registered illegally with Cubans, Iranians and Chinese. He has also had members of his party vote several times under false identities of people that have been dead for many years. Lets also add to the fact that he has been using state funds for his campaign as well as the PDVSA the main oil company as the main organizer and the funding arm for the dictator rallies and events. They have threaten  public worker with the lose of their jobs if they do not vote for the regime, same with business people that have contracts with with Government, if they do not vote for Chavez they lose their contracts, mind you, more then ninety percent of the Venezuelan economy is dependent on  government business. That have intimidated journalist, Television stations and Newspapers that are not in favor of the authoritarian regime with suspension of their licenses like the case of  RCTV the most watched Television station in the country which was close down. Prior to the elections they open up the government's coffers to give thousands of gifts to the millions of poor people to make sure they voted for the regime. In the meantime the opposition  had none or very little access to the media, no access to public funds and no government protection against the Dictators street gangs. Next time you go fill your car up with gas at Citigo (own by the Venezuela regime) remember you are helping this monster continue to destroy a country, families and people lives. If you are politicians why are you buying oil from these rough nations? Lets have a conscious for once. Lets stop these animals(with all due respect to the real animals) for once and for all.

People management

I wonder if in a not so distance future people will have personal managers like people have personal trainers. If you are willing to have someone help you train your body why not have some help you manage your career and your life. Most of the top actors, writers, directors, celebrities and athletes have a manager and an agent or just an agent. I believe in the near future lots of executives, creators, knowledge workers, university professors will have managers to improve the percentage of their potential that will be expressed in the world instead of just staying dormant. It is just a thought  and potentially a good idea.

Makers by Chris Anderson a very cool book

I am reading "Makers" a book about The new industrial revolution. It is a revolution about the creation  of stuff. The Creation of products and hardware using  the internet and its distribution power. It is a fascinating book. Check it out, many believe is the new evolution and the new phase of Silicon Valley.

The Latin American Gaddafi will steal another election

On October 7th  the Latin American Gaddafi will once again steal another election as we continue to fund his atrocities, violence, destruction and repression by buying his only source funding, Oil. On Monday October 8th  as you fill your car with gasoline remember we have all conspire by continuing to buy our oil  addiction for monsters like the Latin American Gaddafi which rules and destroys Venezuela. We should a brand a chain of gas stations called" building monsters" we create a global dictator one gallon at time. See you Monday

The Green economy seems to be taking off finally

It is a very quite revolution taking place  in the USA with three big enemies: The fossil fuel establishment, the democratic and the Republican parties. These two parties have been bought off and lobbied to death by the oil player. This political exchange has kept us in the dark in terms of advancements towards a cleaner, non toxic, sustainable and energy secure living model.
But regardless there is an underground current slowly moving us forward to the inevitable switch that has to be made to avoid a mega global crisis due to climate change. This crisis could mean lack of water, food, severe weather shifts, large numbers of environmental refugees, etc. There is more awareness and money moving towards a global shift. One thing is for sure this current model does not work and will not work. I am very hopeful that we are moving in the right direction because if it is not-Game over

Passion versus craft

I am reading a very good book about the great dilemma that most of us are confronted with, finding our passion. The author takes a reverse approach, first become really good at something and eventually you will become passionate about that activity that your are mastering. The Book is "So Good they can't ignore you" by Cal Newport. It has  changed my all whole view on finding my passion. He actually believes that focusing on your passion is actually the wrong approach.  I am enjoyed it very much. Now I am looking at my business and creative life as the process of mastering my craft instead of the constant search for what I am suppose to be passionate about which could be very vague and abstract and therefore hard to pin point.

The UN General Assembly meeting should be done over Skype

This week New York City is full of diplomats and so called leaders running around in their limos loaded with their US security entourage  creating big traffic jams. I was walking on Madison Avenue around 56 Street when I saw a group of FBI or CIA looking agents, like ten of them protecting the wives or family members of these dignitaries. The first thought I had was" what a waste of tax payers money to protect all these people that are doing more damage than good to the world", probably a lot of them are part of corrupt regimes and governments. Here we are protecting them as they shop at high end luxury brands in NYC with most likely revenues from their nation's people's income paid for by our very over extended and severely in debt USA government. The worst part is that the United Nations accomplishments are very little on the expense to results ratio. But yes are putting up with all this traffic, cost and annoyance for not much. I say the General Assembly should be broadcast online via Skype. It would be best for all of us on this planet. This meeting is a big waste of fossil fuels and stolen funds. The next step would be for the UN to go condo.

Time for transparency algorithms

Transparency is the new killer app but extreme clarity is the new paradigm. It is becoming harder and harder to hide. Politician, dictators and corrupt and in humane corporate practices will slowly be on the run, being chase by the network, transparency algorithms, information pirates and hopefully well informed and conscious masses of citizens. We must not accept any less them extreme Transparency.

Today is a sad reminder of the dark consequences of chasing oil around the Planet.

Today is a reminder of the terrible consequences of our oil chasing practices around the planet. If the Arab countries were Tomato producers we would never be involved in their affairs which has had deadly results in terms of lives lost and economic destruction.  It is now time we stop. Yes stop and move into a sustainable, energy independent, low or zero toxicity environmental paradigm. We could do it the technology is there what is not there is a group of honest and visionary politician willing not to be bought by the fossil fuel sector. These power pimps simple give a bad name to Capitalism. We need to move out the old paradigm of crony capitalism and become real American capitalist.

A narco Orangutan is on loose in Latin America

This wild Orangutan is destroying and polluting his country. He feeds himself with Oil and power. Lately he has turned to drug trafficking. Several of his top primate generals have been called out by the US government as kingpins and to be precise one of them is the minister of the defense very close to orangutan number one. The Minster of defense is  in charge of defending the supreme primate not from  outside forces but from others in the zoo that are tired of the abuse, the humiliation,  the destruction and in some cases are starting to rebel. The top primate(orangutan #1) has closed down thousands of business eliminating productivity as well as expropriating great amounts of land to be left unproductive and abandoned. He wants all in the zoo to be dependent on him and his bananas and never be self reliant. This angry primate does not permit other monkeys to have different opinions nor beliefs. Corruption is how  he keeps the zoo in check. He feeds the top monkeys lots of money and then they become addicted to stealing and then he has them under his control forever. He has been trying to expand his destruction through out Latin America, be careful it could reach the USA shores. Stop feeding the beast do not buy his Oil. Orangutan alert is on. He is on the loose, armed and dangerous. He is angry but ignorant.

The Gu Kailai trail exposes Chinas power play-Does Arab Spring translate to Mandarin

This trail really exposes the hypocrisy of the so called Chinese Communist system. It really is about the two worlds existing within China, those that are connected(part of the power structure  and those that are not). If I was  a Chinese person watching this bad horror show I would be very angry. Murder for the powerful means one thing and for the common person it means another so does the consequences.
As the planet becomes more transparent due to technology people are becoming very aware of these difference and injustices masked under so called democracy, communism, religion, etc. We better be careful because the global masses are staring to catch on that to the fact that the game is rigged and people are slowly starting to get angry and acting out. We could have a global Arab spring.

Lets Celebrate debt independence day-when?

We will be celebrating our independence from the tyranny of our own addiction to debt.
We will celebrate the day we stopped borrowing from the Chinese.
We will celebrate the day the US population understood the importance of making
hard choices based on the long term future of this country.
We will celebrate the day politician stopped being debt pimps by focusing
 on being elected
and start looking out for the future generations of this country.
We will celebrate day government is run efficiently and not a source of funding
for the uncreative bureaucrats and their kingdoms of mediocrity.
Yes we will celebrate, but when?

Does Transparency Kill the current game?

I wonder if our global financial system and the political power centers only work when they operate in the dark. When light is pointed at them the whole game starts to fall apart like now. Maybe it is because it really only works for a few and they do not want the rest of us to really know. My next question is what will be the consequences of transparency on a globe scale. One thing is for sure transparency is growing, it will become ubiquitous and operating in the dark will be harder and harder. What will all this mean to Dictators, bankers, to the corrupt elites, the congress, oppressive party regimes, etc. It is going to be fun watching as they all run for the small cover darkness left. Run MF, run.

Going after Lance Armstrong? how about going after those doping our kids with sugar and junk food?

I think bureaucrats need a reason to be and to have a big budget and lots of expenses. Since we can't solve the street doping issue and we have failed miserably in the so called war on drugs lets now go after athletes like Clemens, Bonds and Lance Armstrong. Spend million in these bogus trials for nothing. I do not care if Lance Armstrong was using illegal substance or not, he is a great American success story. He came back from being basically dead to winning seven tours of France that to me is exceptional. If you want to go after him you need to go after the whole sport since we all know it is rampant problem. I say we put our money to better use.I say go after those doping our kids with sugar and junk food how about that, the weapon traffickers, or the corrupt campain financing schemes. Since we cannot do such important things lets distract the masses by going after notorious sport figures, a great waste. I say we add to our trillions in debt by borrowing  a bit more from China to pay for the anti doping agency and  their very important trials and investigations.

Austerity-No, Stimulus-No, how about a new system

There is a battle ragging in Europe over how to deal with the gigantic debt created by their governments and banks. Some believe that  austerity measures is the solution. Now there seems to be a growing backlash against reducing government spending in a drastic manner.  Stimulus has not worked including in the USA where the Obama stimulus package seems to have done zero in getting the economy moving and reducing  unemployment. If this is so, we are in a real global jam. Meaning that our current economic and financial systems are not applicable to life on this planet for the 21 century. The question now is how do we change this global matrix of financial and political interests that is no longer applicable? In my opinion there something very obvious taking place: the current rules for scoring our economic endeavors only work for a small group of people that have one thing in common: power and profits not ideology nor religious believes . They are Socialist, Communist, Capitalist, Catholics, Jews, Muslims, democracies, dictatorships, etc.  They want the game to continue going on at all cost but the rest of the planet is starting to wake up to the fact that the game is rigged and some have noticed that they are not the only victims that the Earth is also being destroyed in the process. Game over? now what? Big uncertainly, volatility.......

Why are leaders so mediocre? maybe it is my fault

I have always thought and wondered why do we have such poor and mediocre leadership on a global scale. Why do we render the fate of the world to such a caliber of individuals when we know we have a great pool of brilliant people with tremendous integrity that could run this planet in very efficient, humane and enlightened manner. This dilemma continues to baffle me year after year as the planet continues to deteriorate and the political elite becomes more corrupt, incompetent, mediocre and out touch with the real needs of people and the earth. As I contemplate this absurd situation I have come to realize that the reason this is happening is that we(the majority of the population on this earth) have become broadcasters and commentators for a terrible game that gets worse and worse. I think we all need to throw away our microphones and jump into the playing field rip off their uniforms put them on ourselves and start playing the game. Because if we continue as such the whole stadium is going to go down in flames while we watch, comment and criticize. We all need to start playing ball if we want to have a league in the near future.

Start up crowdfunding-the future of finance

I am going to be taking a class this month on "Start up crowd funding" at the General Assembly in New York City. Last April 5th was signed into law the JOBS Act which legalizes equity crowdfunding. Companies will be able to raise up to $1million a year  in equity and debt. To me this is the beginning of a new paradigm of global finance. Where the big control and command players will slowly be removed from their dark role of gate keepers of capital. I believe this will bring about an explosion of creativity and possibilities as capital becomes more democratic and decisions made by individuals and not financial institutions nor governments. A brave new world where individual responsibility and credibility will be the most important currency. Please buckle up your seat belts for a wild and exciting ride.

The Niche Makers are bring down the industrial revolution

After reading "The Long tail" by Chris Anderson I became aware of the economics and the shift taking place to a niche model in business for the 21st century. It is becoming evident how the wide play, vague and impersonal paradigm is starting to collapse while the strong niches are starting to dominate. It is even a matter fiction by such writers as Cory Doctrow in his novel "Makers".We can also can read about it in E.F. Schumacher's book "Small is Beautiful" as well as by Seth Godin in "Small is the New Big". I would say that the industrial revolution is slowly dying and we are moving into a more intimate, one to one, humane and nurturing model of doing business and living. Niche your way to success and happiness.

Breaking down the Media Gatekeeper

The current information ecosystem is really starting breakdown. It is moving away from the corporate and government  centralize model. It is slowly being sliced  by thousands of niche offerings with very specific information and  committed audiences. This new landscape is giving people the opportunity to really participate, create and report. I think this  dynamic puts the individual in a position of power and moves him or her away from a victim framework. The time has come to start communicating among ourselves uncover our great intelligence and creativity by cutting out the current media and information gatekeepers- enjoy this new model and participate. How about creating a new reality on this planet, one that is not about fear and negativity which as we know is designed to make you shop and hide.

The death of massification

There is revolution going on in the planet it is of decentralization. The control and command system of operating is starting to fall apart. We are starting to see it the energy business, content and information distribution in as well as the creation of local currencies. The world is becoming more local, small and of niches with incredible value. It is part of the human evolution away for the massification of the individual towards a more individualistic driven paradigm. The system is starting to transform itself to a New global paradigm, a new model existence.

Destroying America one ounce of junk food at a time.

Obesity is probably more of a threat to our national security then terrorism is. I look at my surrounding including my family & friends and obesity in not a television story anymore it now part of our everyday existence, including the emotional consequences and health care costs. The question is why do we continue to feed our children such poison? To me it is a four way conspiracy: The food companies(poison pushers), media companies(drive by advertising), the politicians(policy pimps) and the parents( playing dumb for the sake of convenience). It is simply disgusting to continue to watch so many people become sick and have their lives cut short as a consequence ingesting kilos and kilos of junk food, sugar, etc. I wonder if there  is any difference in terms of collateral damage between drug trafficing and junk food dealing. People in this country have two options : 1-Become radically responsible for your health and eventually drive the dealers out of business or 2- continue to play dumb until we reach our personal, family and country collapse. If there is a poison heaven it is right here in America. Imagine covering such a beautiful country with junk food rappers, garbage and corpses of people killed by introducing into their bodies legally approved poison. Shame, shame and more shame.

Facebook: $100 billion valuation? Really?

I am trying to figure out the real value of Facebook. I have a Facebook page. I use it very little. Yes it does have an initial connectivity value  to it but what about afterwards. It seems  the personal investment of time  in such a social media platform seems to be a diminishing return. There is also a significant lost of privacy due to the fact that Facebook owns your personal information and sells it.   After this initial public offering I was left wondering why would it have a $100 billion plus valuation. I was looking at their advertising  revenues per user, at one point it was $33 now it is $2. They currently have very low CPM(Cost per thousand impressions). General Motors recently announce that they were going to stop advertising on Facebook because it did not work for them. Of course they have close 900 million users that gives them tremendous latitude to create new business models and ways of bring in revenue. But I still can't figure out the real value of Facebook for me moving forward. It feels like a global distraction while really important things are happening that could determine our destines. Please somebody explain this to me. Thanks

What is Wall Street going to do next?

The housing debacle was the last scam created by a tag team of politicians and financiers. The congress wrote the right laws to create the opportunity for Wall Street to execute the scam. As the pressure to create higher and higher returns continues to be a fact in the markets and little sources available of new growth I wonder what is the new global Ponzi scheme being designed as I write this blog. Stay alert because the media is not going to inform you remember last time? they were the cheer leaders. It is coming for sure, let me know which one do you think it is.

Are social media platforms the future?

I heard a very smart and successful venture capitalist talking about this subject matter. He said that he does not think social media platforms will be the future. He believes that  most content will be distributed directly to consumers without the need of such platforms. We are now starting to see this dynamic taking place in music, films, documentaries, e-commerce and the creation of personal brands. I agree with this assumption that is why I have always said that one of the most powerful skills moving forward is online marketing because it is going to be all about who can take incredible and desirable content from the creators to the consumers. The group Radiohead is a great example. Many filmmakers are skipping the centralize model to go directly to their audience. Yes models like Facebook I think will be great marketing tools but not the distribution mechanism. We are entering a cool, individually empowering brave new world. Que Viva online Marketing, Que Viva the creators and Que Viva individual power.

It looks like sustainability could be the next gold rush

I believe our current system of excess consumption, environmental destruction and fantasy finance is now really starting to hit a wall. This paradigm and it tools have stopped working. It is not feasible to create prosperity, health, happiness and a toxic free environment  on this train. I am now starting to believe sincerely that the way to create growth and get the global economy going in a real way is through implementing a sustainable system and shifting to a green economy. It is not about saving the planet. It is about prosperity and growth in the right way. It is real capitalism and democracy not this quasi democracy and quasi capitalism we have going on now.

Syria come on?

How long are we going to continue to watch this massacre by this ruthless beast in Syria and not doing anything? We have to start choosing humanity over gangsters. We have stop protecting, rationalizing, justifying, doing with business, selling stuff to, protecting their associates  and looking the other way when it comes to these regimes and dictators, specially governments, corporations, cultural, media, entertainment elites and their own societies. It is not cool to support oppressors, killers and thief's. There are so many incredible people doing incredible things why support these creatures and their friends.

Dictators: the new victims of transparency-they are being demolished

It is seems that Dictators are being demolished by technology and transparency. They are dropping like flies all over the place of course some are hanging on by a thread like Putin and Chavez that now seems to be dying. Chavez has tried very hard not tell the Venezuela people the truth about his disease. As consequences he ran to Cuba for treatment to avoid transparency and got probably the worst of medical care on planet for his cancer. It looks like it is going to cost him his life. Transparency ambushed him and maybe killed him.The world is entering into a new model where more and more transparency will rule. Dictators you can run but you cannot hide. We got you! next step return the money that you and your friends have stolen as well as pay the consequences-we are watching.

The Establishment is starting to come around

I read and watched videos of a Wall Street Journal conference called ECO:nomics about the future of energy. I thought it was fascinating to see the status quo of business being slowly dragged kicking and screaming into changing their ways and joining the new model of global sustainability. The reason being that they are starting to realized that the profits are not in the old paradigm anymore the money is in the new way being and doing business where people and the planet matter. They are still using the old language and references but trying to apply it to the new world order of sustainability. This conference is a must see and read:http://online.wsj.com/public/page/environment-economy-03262012.html
Enjoy as they are being dragged into being responsible and conscious human being playing the role of business people.

We need a third party now

The two party's main alliance in this country is with the past, the old ways, the old clans, the old status quo, the old group of friends, the old destructive habits. These two guys cannot move us forward. They can only move us down and we are going down fast. It seems we cannot get out of the traditional pattern, even though the world as become very untraditional. I am fiscally conservative, a libertarian, socially moderated and very angry at these two dirty characters. They only way to stop being victims of this matrix is to disconnect from this game and create a new grid. Politics in America is like junk food, big long term consequence and really stupid.

It is all about inspiration

I read, I listen, I see and I try to understand what is going around me in the world, I perceive a lack of inspiration and no will to really move in a new direction that will spark our inner juices and the inner juices of our human race. It seems we are heavily invested in the current non functional status quo and holding on to for dear life to the old living paradigm. It is a scenario in which we all know most of it is not working, it is destructive, boring and and has no heart. To me this is why has Apple's market capitalization that as over taken Exxon at least today at $445.25 billion. Why? because Apple's brand, products and philosophy inspires us. It does not compromise for the mediocrity the world seems to have taken as it default status.
Apple is actually a good living model to study. We are all eventually going to explode into a shift.

The Chinese are fighting back

I was very surprised when I read a story this morning in the Wall Street Journal about a town in Southern China where the population as taken over the town due expropriations of lands by central government. People are not taking it anymore, transparency is rearing its beautiful head and disrupting the authoritarian games being played by many governments and corporations. Time to run and hide for ever you Mr Politician.

Is our future Blade Runner or is it Mad Max?

I saw a documentary " Crude Impact" It dealt with peak oil and the damages we are inflicting on the planet by the extraction of oil. It also focuses on the unsustainable path we are on due to our hyper consumption. A day after I saw the movie "Blade Runner" which depicts a society in the year 2019. It is very gray and polluted , machine like with no humanity. After the movie I thought we could very easily end up live the Blade Runner scenario if we do no make significant changes in how we think, act and living. I felt a great sense of hopelessness and darkness, but after some contemplation I realized the we are responsible for the future we create. I would like see a more humane, sustainable, nurturing, non toxic, individualistic and healthy place to live, so why not create it and fight for it instead of complaining and feeling defeated and overwhelmed . I am glad I saw this documentary and this movie. I feel invigorated and more responsible.

Yes the game is rigged, yes government has been acquired

I relate in a way with the general sentiment of The Wall Street protest. What I do not understand
is why Wall Street? The main culprit here is the political system that has been set up for it to be bought,The White House, Congress and The Judicial system. We like it or not we have a system controlled by a small group of campaign donors. In my mind the government has set the rules and it is suppose to enforce them. Currently the government has set the boundaries and makes sure no one disrupts the current paradigm which is "please buy me"
Wall Street is simply taking advantage of the rules of the game. That is like blaming a baseball player for stealing second base, that is within the rules of the game. I say Occupy Washington every politicians homes and the supreme court for giving further power to corporations to expand their abilities donate even more to candidates(easier acquisition). There is garage sale going on in Washington, next election buy yourself a congressman or women as well as some favors from your president, maybe you can get government financing for own Solar company.
Wow, wow Democracy in the toilet

Assets versus liabilities in the USA-Scary future-Ocuppy Washington

If you really want to know where we are in this country and how crazy, out of touch and irresponsible politicians have been with our future just go to the Treasury Department's website and look for Fms.treas.gov/frsummary/frsummary2010.pdf . It will blow your mind how deep in the whole we really are, as well as how much of actual financial reality is being hidden from us and not made available to the public. Europe, long terms does not look that bad, boy the Chinese must be laughing as they lend us more with a shovel in their hands. The shift must come we all need to become leaders because the current group is too corrupt and has been bought off a long time ago. We cannot afford to have the current establishment running this game, if we want to continue to have a game.

We are going to be forced into living simple and self reliant lives.

I believe that we are in a period of very little growth that will last maybe ten to fifteen years. We are de leveraging mountains of government and personal debt. At the same time we are making a slow transition to a sustainable economy and living model. During these times we will see lower levels of consumptions on the basics and less spending in the unnecessary. Prices of food and energy are predicted to go higher. As a consequence we are going to have to live less dependent lifestyles. It sounds painful but the more I think about it could end up being the other way around, this current model the one we are living now being the painful one and the simple and self reliant a more happy one. Lets see but no doubt the shift is almost here.

The repetition machine and the imitator is dead, Creativity is the new killer app

The system is not working, which system? the government, the financial system, the system of consumption, etc. Why? because we are stuck in rotting spin of repeating the same old behaviors and actions in a very efficient manner. The only problem is that the composition of these behaviors are reinforcing a system that no longer works. So how do we create a change? I think it is about having the courage to start creating on a personal level as well as at a
societal level. Of course there is a small group of people and powers to be that want the game to stay the same but the majority of us know the system is broken. Lets recreate a new us, with new behaviors, believes, new agreements and actions which will eventually create a system that may work for lots of us. It is about creativity, innovation and not be a repetition machine and an imitator of what does not work. The W3.

Default planet-Default nation

It seems that we are moving into a global scenario of a default planet in which the whole world is in such debt that growth will not be part of our experience for some time. I continue to believe that we are creating a political class that is irresponsible and debt addicts. The US political system is broken like it is in most of the world. Lets kick them out and send them to live among us in reality. It is time to tare down the walls and create another game that works for all of us. I say lets start sending them to jail, lets criminalize politics. Many are asking for the heads of Wall Street players, why not congress and Presidents? Game over-Default nation.

What an exciting time to be alive

It is a fascinating time to be alive. The traditional is no longer applicable, the logic and rational is falling apart. No matter how much the status quo tries to make it work the framework is melting. The economic system cannot grow, Politics is rotten even in the best of circumstances. Dictatorial systems are really having a hard time being centralize, oppressive and stopping the flow of conversations and information. It is not a good time to be a dictator nor a close end system of any kind. There is only one thing to do and that is to create a new way of living, new systems and a new happiness. This is wonderful. This means will need to create our own visions and live in them. Forget the experts and the establishment-Time to follow our own inner voices and leap for the new, from the more practical point of view, the traditional is no longer profitable and fun-it has gone stale. A new political class is needed-Public servants not self servants

At a global scale there is an urgent need for a new political paradigm. The current class is simply not capable and not responsible nor evolved enough take this planet in the direction that is need to avoid a collapse. This current political class is not conscious of the real issues nor are they humble enough to realize the extent of the damage being inflected on society and the world by their lack of responsibility, arrogance and their child like behavior. The time as come for us to restructure and create a political class that is composed by public servants and not self servants. Vote, donate and kick them out with your brain and not with your denial and comfort.W3

The New paradigm emerging even in traditional media

Today's( September 12th)The Wall Street Journal has a section on the Environment. It is actually pretty good. It is focus on the creation of greener cities. As you read it so can sense the creation of a new urban living model that is slowly emerging out of the ruins of our current toxic and wasteful paradigm. This is occurring while most of the world is still trying to squeeze a drop of efficiency out of business and living models that longer works. If you do not believe me have you checked out recently the Financial system, wow talk about a racket that only works for five guys. Time to move on to the next game, because this one has hit the wall. I believe there are tremendous opportunities in the next phase it just takes some faith in the human race.

America's and China's downfall could be through our mouths

I watched the Documentary "Knives and Forks". It is a very powerful film. It show how food is the weak link in American society and how we are destroying ourselves by eating mountains of junk food and animal based products. The Chinese are now starting to copy us and they have joined the obesity and chronic disease fest. It is amazing the current level of denial that we are living in, 40% of Americans are obese. Health care will sink America. To the obesity epidemic we need to add the fast growing aging population in the USA and in the rest of the planet. We now spend on health care then defense. Another great documentary to watch is "Food Inc". We really have to be very self reliant because we are surround with tons of mis leading concepts, lies and big corporate interest focused on their short term interest and not on our own long term health. The global economy fact or fiction?

Have the economies of the first world been growing in the last ten years or is it a debt illusion, meaning no growth all debt, question? fiction or nonfiction? I say fiction. It has been in it's majority a big Pyramid of debt creating the perception of progress but the reality has been all about economic destruction, the sacrifice of many generations and severe damage to the ecology of the planet.
Fiction or nonfiction?
If it is fiction- can we catch the creators of this Ponzi scheme and make them pay? or should we continue to go after the small time criminal pretending they are a problem. We need to get a global alarm clock so we can all wake up to what is really happening. W3

The gaming of our lives

Last night I could not sleep. I started reading a book called "Play: How It Shapes The Brain, Opens the Imagination and Invigorates The Soul" by Stuart Brown and Christopher Vaughan. It is an incredible book. It gave me a sense of relief and tranquility as a started to look at life in the context of a big universal game. In my case it released lots of tension and brought back fun and adventure to my life just by thinking about it. A year ago I also read "Reality is Broken" by Jane Mcgonical, a cutting edge book on why gaming and play is the new human killer app and how gaming/play is becoming very visible in many of our everyday activities, entertainment and new business models being created. So I started this morning to turn my activities and specially those that I consider hard and boring to do into a game, my whole outlook has started to changes. I am going to game myself into a personal reinvention and expanded outwardly to the rest of the planet. Enjoy, play hard and please do not take your self serious it just a game-W3

Steve Jobs what a cool New paradigm visionary

I think Steve Jobs is one the most important figures in this century. He has really added to our lives in a significant way, including jobs. A purely proactive visionary willing to bet the farm on his instincts. He does not compromise with mediocrity. He excepts the extraordinary. We all need to do the same, except the extraordinary, just imagine what we would be and what the planet would turn into. I think it would be extraordinary. I have read two very good books on Jobs which I highly recommend " Inside Steve's Brain" and "The Steve Jobs Way" enjoy.

The system is clogged -Washington is the Mecca

I was in Washington last week. A beautiful city, great architecture, lost of culture and the people were very nice. But you can feel the bureaucracy and the debt base living. The politician and business groups fighting like hell to keep the old game of debt going. It supports great buildings and lots of people passing papers to each without much value add to society. It must a very small group that benefits from such paradigm while the rest is collapsing. It is time to visit Washington and feel and experience the clogging of America.

The end of growth

The economy continues to show signs of not being able to stabilize and get out of the current recession model. Companies are showing positive revenues but the unemployed continues to be significantly high. What is going on? are we entering in unchartered territory? I just read a book that could start to answer some of these questions. It is "The End of Growth" by Richard Heinberg. It could also be complemented with two documentaries-"The Crude Awakening: The Oil Crash" and " "GasHole" Lets break the denial bubble- W3

The biggest global disruption to our lives

We are getting close to the biggest global disruption probably ever seen on this planet. The earth is moving away from a paradigm of cheap energy to a model of very expensive energy and in some cases scarcity. Imagine the implications to our lives. How about the consequences to the geopolitical dynamics. We need to get read and make sure we are not caught by surprise. We are in denial lets wake up. This current model is gone, it is shift time into World 3.0.

Energy the new World war III

I read an article this morning about the tensions developing between China and Southeast Asia over oil exploration and drilling. The supply of oil is starting to diminish in a significant manner on this planet and demand is starting increase drastically. The consequence we are going to see see more wars related to oil. Only way out is to commit to alternative sources of energy and move into a sustainable paradigm which we seem to have an issue committing to, related to many powerful energy groups blocking the way, like maybe oil companies, Car manufactures and congress people which have been bought with campain contributions, maybe. Two documentaries to watch on the subject:
"Gas Hole" and "The Crude Awakening: The Oil crash". Enjoy and cry. W3

Machines better than humans?

In a ruthless world like ours would machines do a better job then us? The technology for gathering data and analyzed it is really becoming cutting edge. We can now measure our behaviors and most of human activities.Given us the opportunity to better differentiate between perception and facts while giving us a more accurate sense of our progress and what works and what does not. Machines are becoming more and more sophisticated, we are becoming more and more barbaric. So would machines do a better a job of managing this planet? I am confused and contemplating. But there is no doubt that machines are and will be a very important part of our future and the New global paradigm-W3.0

Global leaders in the dark

The global leadership is flying blind. They are pretending like they know. That is the global truth. What do we do? we go along pretending like we believe that they know what they are doing. It makes us feel safe giving them the keys to the globe and to our destines. It also covers up our lack of responsibility and our entertained passivity while the place goes down in flames. All that said I must give credit to those leaders that are taking us toward the black hole of destruction at least they are taking responsibility to lead. Is democracy over?

It seems like the world is being run by a series of small groups with very specific interest. As we look around this dynamic seems to playing in China, Latin America, Russia, the Arab countries, etc. But the real question is what is going on here in the United States? is our decline due to deterioration of our democracy? Is this country becoming like Russia, Latin America but done in a more sophisticated and masterful manner. Its seems that the US political system congress has become very parochial and subservient to interest groups. We are focusing only on the short term, about two years right on time for the election. The United States is slowly collapsing before our eyes. We need to have the vision and fortitude to create a shift paradigm in important areas like alternative energies, health(wellness/preventive/stop the junk food eating-obesity), living within our means(reduce our debt-stop taking easy and cheap chinese money), really focus on creativity and innovation through a different education and how about reforming our campaign laws so money is not the only factor determining the results-come on are we going to let the boat sink that easy? Too Big to fail-On HBO

I saw the movie version of the book "Too Big to Fail" written by Andrew Ross Sorkin. He is the editor of the Deal Book in The New York Times. The Book is a great. The movie was good. After watching the movie I realized how close we came to a financial collapse and further more how close we continue to be on the edge of the abyss. What is shocking to me is the fact
that "we the people" know very little of what is going on behind the scenes. We are kept distracted with great entertainment and beautiful stories. In the meantime there is another game being played that is not accessible to the majority. I think is very important for us uncover these underground games on which our lives depend on. Information is the currency of life lets take responsibility to really find out the truth behind the curtain. W3-time for the new global paradigm.

Information, Information and information

This world we live in is all about information, from our DNA all the way to money and political matters. Part of the greatest games we are played is keeping us in the dark concerning the real information needed to function in this world effectively and exercising our on power. In most aspects of everyday life we do not have access to the best nor the right information. This dynamic creates a tremendous advantage for small groups of people that are basically profiting from people's ignorance and lack of understanding how the game of life is played. I could mention some areas where this seems to be true: Finance, personal money related issues, politics, government, health, food, advertising, etc. I wonder what the world would be like if people had the right information. It would certainly make it harder for a housing/ financial crisis like the one we just had to take place. It would be difficult for Gaddafi, Castro,The Egyptian elites and the all these un inspiring and un evolved dictators and political parties to robe and destroy their countries. It would also make very difficult for politician in the US continue to pile up huge debts and spend our money recklessly. It would also be hard for corporations to miss treat it customers and charges excessive fees and on bills that one understands. I say let be information literature and create a transparent planet. I am doing it slowly. W3

World 3.0 at an individual scale

I have been thinking about lifestyles and the current global game that most of us are playing. It is a paradigm in which human happiness and contentment are almost impossible to reach by the rules on this game. Slowly we are starting to see the erosion of the boundaries of this game. A geopolitical example is the Arab nations. They are starting to say hey we are not playing anymore, we want to create another game in which we all can be included, be self expressive and test the boundaries of the old scenario. At other levels I see my friends starting to question their lives and what would it look like if they continue going down the old road. I always ask myself who invented this game? why? and who is benefits? I say we all have to become real life game developers as well as great character creators so we can reinvent ourselves. It is new global Game W3, play hard and reinvent harder.

The trend is just starting now

There is a global shift taking place in our planet, we better get ready so we are not caught unprepared. We can start to see it now with the Egyptian up rising. People are starting to wake up to new model of living. Technology is giving people the tools to communicate, share and organize for new way of being and doing life. It is going to be a 360 degree change. Our current system is not working for us nor for the planet. The shift is on, be careful not to be in denial. The technology is the killer application for Democracy

Since humans seem not to able to create fair and transparency societies I guess technology will come to our rescue. I am excited to see the different platforms being created to help us communicate, work together and jump over all the old paradigm repressive and corrupt behaviors as well as backward thinking that is keeping many generation locked in dark hole for years, keeping creativity, progress and human evolution stagnated. As the world continues to be under these authoritarian systems- direct or indirectly, stealth or an obvious, here comes our creativity to the rescue us by building these platforms to bust through old walls and opening us to a new paradigm of living, Viva La technology.

According to CNN Hosni Mubarak's fortune is between $40 and $70 billion while the average Egyptian's income is $2,000 a year.
Well what a great gig, how about what the rest of his friends took. I propose a global campaign to have Mubarak and his gang return the money. We are talking about real estate in Rodeo Dr, London, NYC. Important stock holdings in Chilis, Vodaphone and

Who needs this

I heard a great quote that really made me think in a profound way. This statement was made by a Buddhist monk at the Bali summit on global warming in 2007. He said, "The challenge is to redesign the world: To design a more authentic, genuine and elegant world. Who needs this wasteful, stressful, congested, exploitative world where half humanity goes to bed hungry and the other half suffers from obesity. We can do better than this." Fact or fiction

I always wonder what is more powerful, fact or fiction? or non-fiction versus fiction? Which one affects our lives the most. I have arrived at the conclusion that the effect is the same because most facts are fiction and most fiction is factual.

Burn down the paradigm

The real weapon to burn the current paradigm is creativity, yes creative destruction is the game. Replication, imitation and the sameness will never work. It is creative trashing of the old models, create, create, create-yes. World 3.0

Creativity is the power play of the future

Innovation and creativity are in the same league with transparency as the global killer applications. So we all need to reconnect with the wild, wacky, powerful, playful, non-heard, unique and authentic inner child to be able to succeed in the future. Operating from the stale imitator part of us will not make it. It is time to give ourselves permission to break through the old personal paradigm of compromise and let the child play -- create, reinvent and transform.

I am stopping imitation

I am trying a new personal experiment which is to stop imitating and start creating, designing and following my own guidance. Instead of asking, I am becoming my own source of reference. Eventually I would like to create a good percentage of what I do, produce and use. What a risk! I guess the only way to change the world is to redesign one’s life. W3.0

What is more powerful, facts or fiction

I always wonder if facts and non-fiction are counterproductive. They stop the evolution of stories by cementing a way of doing something as the truth. On the other hand fiction keeps the stories of life liquid, in motion, transforming and creating new ways of being, doing and acting. Fiction permits us to expand beyond our limits and explore the unknown. I think it’s all one big make-believe. What is the difference between non-fiction and fiction? No difference-but non-fiction is stationary and cemented to a time in history and attached to certain mechanics; fiction is fluid, creative and ever-changing. Live in fiction, recreate your life, the world and this Paradigm. Yes World 3.0

Why do we love to be fooled

Why is it that we love not being told the truth. We accept living a mega lie and we know at a certain level that we are being taken and that the game is rigged. Yet we continue to act like it is not so. I am not curious about the what and the why of the people doing the covering up and the lying. I am very interested in the why of those of us being taken for a ride in many areas of life: finance, health, politics, education, energy, etc, etc. We cannot handle the truth. We cannot stand transparency, why?
We pretend that China does not censor its citizens, that it is not a violator of human rights and a cruel dictatorship; that Cuba is not run by two gangsters; that Venezuela is not run by a crazy destroyer and a corrupt dictator. That Russia is not a Mafia state and the US congress has not been bought by the top interest groups: Oil, insurance, banks, pharma, etc. How about you? Where do you and I stand in this whole game?

I love the red Prada shoes the Pope wears

When the Pope last visited New York City, he lifted his robe to say hello to some of his followers. At that moment I realized what is that one thing I really like about the Pope and it is his red Prada shoes. They are symbolic of what is really behind the robes. It’s a different lifestyle than the one on the other side of the religious customs, the spiritual hats and the stories. It is very different. The Pope needs to figure out how to make sure that what is behind is the same that is visible. He cannot preach and tell people to wear PayLess and he wears the red Prada's. I would say he needs to tell everybody to wear designer shoes, cool clothing and stop covering it up. At this point I would not be surprised if we find out that the Pope actually works or had worked for Goldman Sachs.

Everything is up for sale including your congressman/woman

As a libertarian I am having a hard time expressing this particular point of view. It has to do with the fact the Congress is really a puppet institution of corporate America and special interests. It has nothing to do with you and me. The strings are being directly pushed and pull by the strong and influential community of ex-politicians called lobbyists. Under this current scenario most things that need to change will not change because the status wants it this way because the rules are tilted in their favor so they can win all the time. The question is how do change this. I say public financing of campaigns. Anybody that qualifies as a candidate through getting the right amount of signatures, etc., will have access to a set amount of money in accordance to the office they are running for. All the candidates have the same amount of cash. It is an even playing field. It becomes about creativity, personal skills and drive. They can focus on the issues instead of fund-raising. They cannot be bought and therefore more independent minded people can participate in the political game and affect real change. In this way the public is really served and politicians can keep their integrity and not be fund beggars, which is what they are right now. Okay, now we have a chance to see a real shift in America, where the future is bright and fair, how about that? World 3.0

The Wizard of Oz

I was consuming a bit of TV news and reading newspapers after a trip abroad. As I was reading I realized that all this stuff we consider news, in its majority, is all a distraction to cover-up what is behind the curtains of the game we cannot see. It is about making us look in the wrong direction and focus on what is really not important so the game goes on as a little group continues to benefit. This little group has all types of ideologies, political beliefs and political systems - they too are part of the entertainment. The owners of the theatre game run their company called Power and the audience and the actors represent a global movement that is growing in leaps and bounds called the heard. Time to pull the curtain to see who is running the show-the method is radical transparency. World 3.0

Time for a new mind-set

It is really time for us to make a global mind shift. It is really getting boring. The old mind-set of command and control is just stale, inefficient and inhumane. I would say that on a global scale it is very unprofitable and it squashes creativity and the evolution of the human race. It is time for an open source mind ware. As the Internet expands in all corners of life it would seem that openness and freedom would be growing but the opposite is true, even though there is an apparent sense of freedom. In my opinion it is to the contrary, even in countries where democracy has been established, if one looks in depth into the power base it is controlled by a very small group of people. Does this sound familiar, think about it. I say paradigm shift for World 3.0.

World 3.0 No more dictators for 2010

I have a wish for this upcoming year, which is: have all the dictators disappear off the phase of the earth. This includes individuals, tribal oppressors and party dictatorships. I do not understand why in this day and age we still have these gang type governments and the hoards of mobs that follow them as they destroy their countries, kill the future of their youth and burn to the ground the aspirations of all, just for a big ego trip to which the world seems to indirectly turn a blind eye. I say we do not put up with these power plays that affect a lot of us and benefit very few. In a World 3.0 dictators do not exist.

World 3.0 Media life transparency

Information, connectivity and content are creating a global transformation. Media technology is giving us the opportunity to be more democratic in many areas of our living landscape. But we have to make sure that this technology does not become a tool for further dumbing down of the population and that transparency and personal empowerment do not end their importance. If the media content does not make you better, make you think and grow, as well as inform you, turn it off. World 3.0.

2010 World 3.0

Wow - this year is almost over, and the current paradigm is simply getting older, very stale and outdated. It’s starting to become very obvious for the planet that we need to make a move into a more advanced state of consciousness and the creation of a new living model. I must say the current one is just getting very boring: same old injustices, same old violence and same old repetitive dynamic of defending a way of being that is simply broken. I say let’s move on, let go of the old and let our imaginations fly to create the new, a new that works-World 3.0

World 3.0 The libertarians of collectivism

In the new global paradigm one thing we all have to stop doing is pretending such beliefs as collectivism are really about our well-being. We have to stop fantasizing that someone is going to save us. Socialist governments are simply gangs that really use the masses or the collective as a tool for their own self interest. That is great if you are not part of the masses because then you are a member of the brotherhood of global victims. Bottom line socialist leaders are simply great entrepreneurs and libertarians using the masses for their ultimate goals. Think about it - they are libertarians because they do not believe in big government but they believe in government that works for their objectives. Just make sure you do not get caught in the cross fire of the great game of global manipulation. Be a player in the World 3.0 not a victim.

World 3.0 Wars

Wars, wars, wars for us watching from afar they feel and look like video games; for those participating and their families it is a horrible nightmare. This dynamic has gone on for most of our existence on this planet. Now is it possible to interrupt this pattern, and develop a way to solve these conflicts? I believe that moving away from fossil fuels will certainly minimize lots of the current conflicts specially in the Middle East and Latin America. As long as a small number of people control the most vital source of energy for this current living model, war is going to happen. Of course another big potential source for big conflicts is now slowly rearing its huge head and that is lack of water. A solution to many of these global problems, is making a conscious shift to a sustainable living model, a New Global Paradigm. It is called World 3.0.

World 3.0 Decentralizing finance

I believe it is time to start decentralizing the financial game taking place on Wall Street, how it ‘s played to give access to very few. The vision is very short-term-it’s all about the next quarter. You cannot develop anything of value in a quarter. The models used to rate the success or failure of the global economy are counterproductive to human development, individual growth , sustainability of the planet and creative expansion.
Capital is contained and controlled by a small group of players operating under an old model of the world. These sets of rules are not in tune with the new global paradigm now being created underneath the current collapse of the status quo. This new direction is about an open system in which individuals are highly empowered to create their own lives, realities and ways of living. It is about "Small is beautiful," niches are king and where creative destruction is part of the natural flow of life; no more "Too big to fail." If we continue on this centralized track we could witness one of the biggest failure of human history, the failure of The American Empire. I suggest we start creating smaller niche financial markets that are accessible to lots of people, develop business transparency, what are we hiding? We also need alternative local and industry-related currencies. A new global paradigm is being created; it is unstoppable. It is about sustainability, transparency and individual empowerment. It is World 3.0

The return of the Planet of the Apes

If we do not make a move and a commitment to a new living model very fast it will be time to revisit the movie the “Planet of the Apes.” That is the life we are heading towards very quickly. Of course in the United States this is not as noticeable even though lately in certain regions of the country we can smell the whiff of third world. There are other areas on the planet where this is very evident. How about where I am from, Latin America? My country is the first country in Latin America which is now officially run by a non-human. He is part of a new race that has 15% human genes and 85% orangutan. Its mission is to destroy everything in its path, lie about it and attack anybody or anything that could mean progress, better quality of life, transparency, sustainability and individual empowerment. This model is about turning anybody with any resemblance of humanity, uniqueness and originality into a member of the collective of brainless apes. Watch out - the Apes have arrived in my country. Be careful, they may be coming to a neighborhood near you.

Transparency II

I continue to think about the lack of transparency even though we get the impression that there is more of it due to the fact that allegedly digital technology makes us all interconnected and information flows with ease. My feeling is that there is less of it. Power is concentrating at the corporate and government levels more than ever before. Corporations have become insular business dictatorships in which very few people have real access to the decision-making process and the valuable information. As I said in my last blog, dictatorships have made themselves look almost like democracies, at least that is how the rest of the world treats them. Most governments and countries conduct business with them like they were free, open and just countries. In reality, power loves power, power hates transparency. That is why we see democratic governments and powerful figures cozying up to those rough, corrupt governments, people and institutions. They have more affinity to power, no matter how dark it is, than to transparent people, countries, organizations and ways of thinking. Transparency is a very dangerous thing; let’s spread some around the planet.

Time for World 3.0

The recent bombings around the world, the significant growth in terrorism activity, how we continue to turn a blind eye to the actions of dictators and rough regimes around the world, to me it is all related to the United States’ (our) dependency on oil. Given this belief, I am amazed that we have not moved into a state of emergency/urgency in terms of energy efficiency, innovation in the areas of alternative energies and a conscious shift to conservation and rational consumption. It is time that we transform our personal spending from toxic junk to those products that really contribute to our humanity and the quality of our lives, wow that is a concept. I am slowly working on my personal transformation to this shift. There will be no other option as we move towards a pick oil scenario, more wars over oil and soon to be water. It is time for World 3.0

It is time to be very optimistic

As I watch the markets collapse and people’s overall reaction to this apparent misfortune, I have come to the conclusion that we are in a financial, social, sustainable, personal and spiritual correction. As we all know most of the time it takes a big shock to our system for us to change. This could be it, the time to examine the behaviors of those in the government and the financial institutions but also to question our own and our relationship with ourselves, the planet, our happiness, the concept of consumption and the purpose of living beyond our means. This process of self-analysis and introspection is one that I have started. I must tell you it is a painful one but I predict that it is going to be very liberating. I think it is going to relieve us of a great deal of pressure. It will give us permission to stop trying to be or desire to be something we do not want to be, to stop buying what we do not want nor need as well as to stop conforming to a lifestyle that is out of sync with our true nature. I believe this process or correction will bring us closer to ourselves and nature, and inject quality to our lives instead of more quantity. The earth will also benefit from our shift in living philosophy, as we become conscious of our behaviors and consumption patterns.

Designers will own the world

The world is now slowly starting to shift as is evident in what is now occurring in the global markets and economies. These changes are coming faster and faster. It is now obvious that the process of creative destruction is starting to take its place. The old is now collapsing and the new will soon come to the surface. The new is already brewing underneath it all. It is brewing in our consciousness as well as in most industry and service sectors. Given this non-linear and exponential change, the redesign has started. This means the design of new financial, business and political systems. The artists and protagonists of the new world are and will be professional designers in the different disciplines of design and those people that start to think and operate as a designer. These people will also design the environments we live in, in this reality as well as any other virtual realities we choose to hang out in. Imagine a whole new planetarium conversation. The time has come for us to redesign ourselves and how we live - think designer.

The new design of the globe

I continue to try to figure out where we are heading in this redesign of the planet. How are we going to live, communicate, do business and relate to one another. How about currency? Will we still be using the dollar or the Euro? Will we combine them with barter? What will be the definition of the GDP? Our cities? Are we going to continue to build these really spread out, hard to get around-type living spaces? Spirituality - not religion - will it play a big role in our world or will the status quo religion rule. The world’s poverty - is it going to continue as it is now? or are we going to be able to figure a way to stop exploiting those in poverty and bring forth a solution. The media, will the television networks despair and will all the content move to the Internet? How will the Internet transform the way we interact, vote and do business? Will the concept of government still be valid or will the world go back to a tribal-type system or a series of gang-like groups with different agendas, good and bad, roaming the planet.
When alternative energies do kick in for real, what will happen to the Middle East, Russia, Venezuela-will they just become poor agriculture states? Or maybe disappear? What will happen to our lifestyle here in America? What will happen to the old paradigm? Bye, bye.

Men's new vortex

Men, we need to make a significant change in our framework and state of being. I believe that we are entering into a living model which will force us to reconnect with a different internal guiding system. The one we are consulting with at this current time is not working. It is time to seek that part of us that is not about repeating the old but creating the new, taking the risk of leaving the current cocoon and diving into our new existence. It is time to stop imitating the traditional and build the new with pure imagination and a new design void of old parameters. It is time to be with nature, get clues and learn for the earth. The time has come to block out a little of the exterior noise, go within and tap into a better and wiser source of information. Let’s go out into the woods and ask better questions about what are the next steps to take for this living model to work. At this moment we cannot continue to take our marching orders from a broken frame and systems which are obviously heading in the wrong direction.
Men, let’s simply connect, create, innovate and reinvent ourselves. The time has come - if you do not believe look at the financial markets, global violence and the environment. But most important look at our individual lives. Time to get to work.

The old model is collapsing

As I look at what is happening in the financial markets, I continue to think of the new redesign of the planet that I believe is currently taking place. The old models will start slowly to fall apart and the new will start to reveal itself. This whole crisis in the capital markets is indication of the fact that the current paradigm is unsustainable and the only way for it to continue to operate is basically to move into a criminal model by doing what was done in the sub-prime market by establishing a pyramid scheme. The United States, due to is lack of oversight, is now forced to move away from being a market-based system into being a quasi-socialist state in which the government must rescue business and not let the market take its course in terms of who fails and who succeeds. Many believe that this process of creative destruction has just begun in the financial world and will move next to the car manufacturers and continue throughout many industries. Our only option is to move as fast as possible to a business and personal model of sustainability, transparency and of human integration in a holistic manner. If not we will also going the way of Lehman, AIG, etc.

I have the feeling that the Democrats are in trouble

The Democrats are starting on the road to self-destruction. The reason being. I believe, is their philosophy or political point of view of collective, big government. “I know what’s good for you” no longer works and it will become less and less appealing as we move into a new paradigm of living where the world is more interconnected and individuals have more and more access to self-empowerment and self-expression. The world is not moving into a frame of sustainability, individual empowerment/greatness, transparency, fairness and abundance. This new global scenario is one in which the individual creates a collective, not where a collective tries to impose itself on the individual. That is why Democrats - even the ones I like - will continue to lose influence and power as we slip into a new global framework.

The new design

This summer I traveled across Maine. I also spent time in Boston and New York City. At the end of this beautiful trip I realized that America needs to make a shift into a new living design. Our current living model seems outdated. I felt it as I drove through towns and saw their living conditions. I felt it as I exchanged ideas with people of different walks of life. America has hit a wall. Our thinking has become complacent and stuck. Our individual and country stories need an urgent update; reinvention is a must. The rest of the world is slowly leapfrogging over cemented mind-sets and moving at high speeds towards new prosperity. I believe that a green, sustainable and non-toxic lifestyle model is the new paradigm and our new opportunity to find our edge again and a new global leadership. Of course there is a catch - it all starts at an individual level; it is bottom revolution and evolution. Yes, self-responsibility.

The shift is already happening

There are strong signs of a global shift. The traditional institutions such as the financial and oil sectors, the political status quo, and many large global corporations, are showing signs of the initial stages of a collapse. I finally understood what sustainability means but understanding how unsustainable our current global paradigm is -- we are coming very close to a fork in the road. We will have to decide if we want to continue down this dead-end road. The game has to change hands and become more inclusive. The current game favors a very small group of people on both sides of the political and economic spectrums. It has to open up and become playable for more people on the planet. It also has to be nature-based. Nature is who we are, not something to control and destroy. I also think that we need to re-think our values in terms of what success is. Because our current concept of it is unsustainable.

May the shift be with you.

Make the planet a nourishing and loving place to live. The heart is the real source of our actions and ideas. Let's really make quality of life and human nourishment the priority.

Respect nature. We are nature; it is our duty to respect, protect and learn from nature rather than conquer her.

The Inner Journey. The real revolution is our inner growth. As long as we do not reinvent our inner landscape, our outer reality will continue to be limited, stale and violent.

Live a holistic lifestyle. The mind, the heart, the spirit and the body are one interrelated organism.

Business to transform the world. Business is a very powerful force that must be used to transform the earth. Compassion, entrepreneurship, innovation and the Spirit are the core elements of this transformation. Business based on innovative chaos, taking risk, intuition, heart, synthesis, non-linear skills, a holistic approach, conservation, quality, cooperation and partnership are the focal points of a new business paradigm.

Use technology to unite people. Let's create technologies that bring us together and help us develop lives of greater quality. The Internet is a manifestation of our desire to be connected. We aspire to connect to each other and become whole.

The Media. Media must inform, uplift, educate, inspire and unite. Not manipulate, instill fear, and keep people from developing their inner greatness.

Individual versus the collective. The individual must become responsible for his or her well-being, inner journey and self-improvement. The government cannot do it. Let's empower our selves, hearts, and thoughts.

Government small and non-intrusive. The government is simply a traffic cop. The responsible individual is the engine of growth, order and prosperity.

High self-esteem is the most effective weapon against corruption. As human beings we must understand that we are all capable of creating the life we want. We do not have to take from others. The universe is an abundant system. Scarcity is an illusion.

We are what we eat/eating is a political act. If we eat junk, we become junk, we think junky ideas and we end up creating a world of junk. Let's eat quality food and become quality people.

Quality of life over superficial growth. Our economic growth must be based on the growth of the human spirit and the improvement of our lives. We need to change the measurement of our economic life and the meaning of the word "profits." Profits must include quality of life, personal growth and enjoyment.

Learning is a human right. Teaching people is a global duty; not having education available is a violation of human rights.

Role models are extraordinary people. We must admire real people that have created extraordinary lives, not people created by the media. Role models are essential for the development of our human potential.

Abundance and prosperity. The universe is abundant. We are abundant and limitless. We need to turn our minds and hearts toward our greatness, abundance and possibilities.

Consumption vs. quality of life. We cannot fill our emptiness by consuming. Consumption must have meaning and its consequences measured. We need nourishment, creativity, encouragement, playfulness and community - not more consumption.

Individual creativity, imagination and self-expression are sacred. Individual creativity must be respected, encouraged and protected. It is the only way out of our current broken paradigm.
