After a year people have
given up on any kind of help, assistance and protection. A small
part of the government is still functioning: law enforcement, certain government
backed health care operations like the VA hospitals. The rest is up the people
to figure out. For the first six months there was a sense of despair, fear, disappoint
and hopelessness. In the last three-months people attitude’s has changed from
desperation to talking matters into their own hands. A shift is taking place
from the population being victims to people starting to become self-reliant. You are
starting to see people working with local governments, their schools making
sure classes can continue. There is lots of chaos around the country some jails
are rioting and the economy is gone into a recession. Thousands of government
employees are out on the street. Lots of bad stuff is happening but underneath
it all there is something very palpable taking place. People are staring to
realize that they cannot count on governments and politicians but they can
start to relay on themselves, friends and neighbors. All kinds of
Entrepreneurship is breaking out all over the country. There is an incredible
sense of rawness and aliveness in the air. People are starting to wake up from
the prior catatonic state of dependency. Something extraordinary is happening even
with this quasi-urban war-taking place in the background. I wonder if a major
transformation is happening, maybe this is beginning of the second coming of
the United States.
