Is youth being overdone in our culture?

Why is that there such a disproportionate focus on youth in our culture? I think experience and being wise is cooler and more attractive. So much emphasis on Y could become silly.

Believe it or not everybody is aging.

The Age of the Wise
Everybody is getting older, believe it or not. The difference this time around is that the amount of people getting older at the time is pretty significant at a global scale. It is a game changer. A demographic shift that will create significant economic and political pressure on governments, countries and families. At the same creating opportunities to develop great services and products to improve the lives of those in the process of ageing. It is obvious that we need to reframe culturally how we view, perceive and related to aging. I propose will called it the wise segment of the population. I would describe it as people not getting older but getting Wiser.
All of us if we are lucky we will get Wiser and I hope we are all treated as wise and valuable human being instead of old people. I am not getting older I am getting wiser. I would like to suggest a very good book that I am reading on the subject “The Age of Aging” by George Magnus. I highly recommend it.

Think young while you get wiser.

Why should White guys have all the fun-Reginald Lewis

This is the real "Rocky" of business. The life of Reginald Lewis.  In 1992 Forbes Magazine listed him among the richest 400 Americans. The story of a black man that came from nothing to become a power player in the financial industry, among his acquisitions Beatriz Food, a global company. A man's determination and drive to brake through the barriers of a white dominated money world. They tried to exclude him from participating in deals. He did not work. This is predicable. What is surprising are the many that jumped in to help and support him in becoming extremely successful, among them Michael Milken the famous financier and Phyllis Schless the investment banker. They should do a movie on the life of Reginald Lewis, by the way he looked like Denzel Washington. The movie would be a mixture of Rocky and a formula one race. Read this book it is great. Every person needing inspiration or feeling like an underdog ought to read it. Forget about athletes being role models for kids, this is the real role model.

Screw it, Lets do it by Richard Branson

Richard Branson is the Mick Jagger of business. A cool and ageless character bucking the system and simply playing the game on his own terms. He has really turned  business and making money into  a cosmic game of monopoly. He is a business pirate. A master mind at public relations, getting media attention, building teams and connecting with people/customers. He is a good role model for people wanting to go into business. I am personally tired of the guy with the strip suit and the cigar pounding the desk screaming at his employee, reset
I read "Screw it, Lets do it" by Branson. It is a fun read. It is a book to keep around every time you are starting to take your life and yourself to seriously pull it out and read it. Business and life are great games. Lets play!

Cartel Land the documentary

This documentary is a must see. It is about the growth of vigilante movements both in Mexico and the USA borders. People taking matters into their own hands to defend themselves mostly against the Mexican Cartels. They feel that government is not there for them. I see this as a possible  warning for what could come at larger scale.

Make the planet a nourishing and loving place to live. The heart is the real source of our actions and ideas. Let's really make quality of life and human nourishment the priority.

Respect nature. We are nature; it is our duty to respect, protect and learn from nature rather than conquer her.

The Inner Journey. The real revolution is our inner growth. As long as we do not reinvent our inner landscape, our outer reality will continue to be limited, stale and violent.

Live a holistic lifestyle. The mind, the heart, the spirit and the body are one interrelated organism.

Business to transform the world. Business is a very powerful force that must be used to transform the earth. Compassion, entrepreneurship, innovation and the Spirit are the core elements of this transformation. Business based on innovative chaos, taking risk, intuition, heart, synthesis, non-linear skills, a holistic approach, conservation, quality, cooperation and partnership are the focal points of a new business paradigm.

Use technology to unite people. Let's create technologies that bring us together and help us develop lives of greater quality. The Internet is a manifestation of our desire to be connected. We aspire to connect to each other and become whole.

The Media. Media must inform, uplift, educate, inspire and unite. Not manipulate, instill fear, and keep people from developing their inner greatness.

Individual versus the collective. The individual must become responsible for his or her well-being, inner journey and self-improvement. The government cannot do it. Let's empower our selves, hearts, and thoughts.

Government small and non-intrusive. The government is simply a traffic cop. The responsible individual is the engine of growth, order and prosperity.

High self-esteem is the most effective weapon against corruption. As human beings we must understand that we are all capable of creating the life we want. We do not have to take from others. The universe is an abundant system. Scarcity is an illusion.

We are what we eat/eating is a political act. If we eat junk, we become junk, we think junky ideas and we end up creating a world of junk. Let's eat quality food and become quality people.

Quality of life over superficial growth. Our economic growth must be based on the growth of the human spirit and the improvement of our lives. We need to change the measurement of our economic life and the meaning of the word "profits." Profits must include quality of life, personal growth and enjoyment.

Learning is a human right. Teaching people is a global duty; not having education available is a violation of human rights.

Role models are extraordinary people. We must admire real people that have created extraordinary lives, not people created by the media. Role models are essential for the development of our human potential.

Abundance and prosperity. The universe is abundant. We are abundant and limitless. We need to turn our minds and hearts toward our greatness, abundance and possibilities.

Consumption vs. quality of life. We cannot fill our emptiness by consuming. Consumption must have meaning and its consequences measured. We need nourishment, creativity, encouragement, playfulness and community - not more consumption.

Individual creativity, imagination and self-expression are sacred. Individual creativity must be respected, encouraged and protected. It is the only way out of our current broken paradigm.
